Helminthology 

   The helminthology laboratory is established to conduct:

  •  Identification of adult helminthes parasites with their morphological key characters tics.
  •  Ova culture and identify 3rd stage larvae of common parasites with their morphological key characteristics.
  •    Purification of nematodes ova for experimental purpose.
  • In vitro egg hatch assay test for the presence of anthelminthic drug resistance
  •  In vitro larval developmental assay test with different pharmaceutical anthihelmenthic drugs.
  • Drug efficacy trial on animals with imported and domestic anthelminthic drug.
  • A training for regional lab staffs and other stakeholders
  • Assisting under and postgraduate students coming from universities for their completion of their thesis and research work.
  •  Prepares manuals and standard operating procedure for day-to-day activities.

  • Sedimentation technique for the diagnosis of Trematodes (Flukes)
  • Baer-man technique for the diagnosis of Dictyocaulus spp (Lung worm) and harvesting of infective stage L3 nematode larvae
  • Invitro egg hatch assay test for the evaluation of antihelementic drug resistance.
